Physical therapy is a professional career which has many specialties including musculoskeletal, orthopedics, cardiopulmonary, neurology, endocrinology, sports medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, women's health, wound care and electromyography.
Physiotherapists are independent practitioners treating various musculoskeletal common ailments like joint pains, muscle pain, connective tissue disorder, soft tissue injury, acute and chronic pain, fracture, pre and post-op rehabilitation, Joint replacement surgery, neurological disorders such as stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, brain injury, Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and etc.
PT management commonly includes prescription of or assistance with specific exercises, manual therapy, and manipulation, mechanical devices such as traction, education, electro physical modalities which include heat, cold, electricity, sound waves, radiation, assistive devices, prosthesis, orthosis, and other interventions.

Massage therapists are registered and certified medical professional applies various degree of fixed or movable pressure and uses of group of manual techniques to manipulate the soft tissues of our body such as muscle, tendon, ligaments, skin and other connective tissues.
Massage therapy is one of the oldest health practice found in Chinese medical text written more than 4,000 years ago. Massage therapy has been advocated in western healthcare practice after Hippocrates, the “Father of Medicine”.
Massage therapy primarily applied with the hands, sometimes the elbows, forearms are used. The basic philosophy of massage therapy embraces the concept of “vis Medicatrix naturae”, which means “aiding the ability of body to heal itself”.
Massage therapy can be provided only by the Registered Massage therapists (RMT). They could treat the acute and chronic conditions.
Studies of massage benefits have found massage can:

Swedish massage is the most common massage technique used. It is a system of gliding strokes, kneading and friction on the superficial layers of the muscles and sometime combines with the passive movements of the joints. Deep tissue massage is used to release chronic muscle tension with greater pressure to deeper layer of muscle using strokes, direct pressure and friction. Sport massage is performed for the physical demands and purpose of enhancing the athlete’s preparation for sport and recovery from the sport activity. It is performed pre-event, inter-event, post-event and restorative. Neuromuscular massage is a form of deep massage that is applied to individual muscles. It is for primarily to release trigger points.
Massage therapy is a registered and licensed profession. Our massage therapists are trained in various massage techniques and types.

Tharani received her Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2016. She moved to Canada in late 2020. She is registered with College of Physiotherapists of Ontario since 2022. Using a comprehensive approach Tharani tries her best to help people achieve their goals to restore mobility and function. Laxmi graduated with a bachelor degree in Physiotherapy in 1998 from Dr MGR medical university, Chennai, India. He worked as a lecturer in Navodaya college of Physiotherapy, Raichur, Karnataka. India for around 2 Year and he served over 8 years as Prinicipal of Navadoya college of Physiotherapy, Mahaboobnagar. AP. India where he became an author of a textbook (“The text book of therapeutic exercise”) and Published it in 2005 under the banner Jaypee medical book publisher, India. Then he worked around 2 yrs in the Seventh of April University, Al zawia. Libya. He became a registered Physiotherapist in Canada in 2014. He is having very good experience working in hospitals, LTC homes, clinics and community settings as a Registered Physiotherapist in Canada. He has sound knowledge in working with orthopedic, sport injury, neurological and geriatric cases. He has also undergone training for McKenzie techniques.
